Last Day in Cleveland... hopefully

The girls found time and space to
art journal on the road. :-)
Today was a fairly quiet day, hanging around the campground waiting for Dad to get the truck fixed. The girls made some friends. They amaze me with how quickly they can connect to other kids. What was that about homeschoolers and socialization? Yeah, I'm not seeing any issues with that here.

Well, there is Conner. He stayed in his bunk pretty much the entire day playing a video game and reading. We did manage to entice him out to go swimming in the evening and he enjoyed it. But yeah, even in an RV, teenagers can still be sullen and isolated. However, as I write this, he is getting career counseling from Dad, which is fairly amusing to listen to. Father-son bonding at its best.

I felt so domestic today. Jim was out getting the truck fixed and I stayed behind to do my wifely RV duties: cleaned the RV (huge advantage to the house, it took all of 15 minutes!), did the laundry, started getting everything packed up for pulling out tomorrow.

Gymnastics practice by the pool.

Meanwhile, Jim lucked into finding a very nice Dodge dealership who squeezed us in and replaced the front shocks on the truck. They also repaired the power outlets, so we can charge our phones now! woohoo!! And they managed to figure out which bulb was causing an intermittent "Lamp Out" warning that was driving us nuts. I hate intermittent. Oh, and they did the front brakes while they were in there. We knew that was coming. So we should be all set. (fingers crossed)

Kate enjoying the resort pool.

This evening, we got most everything packed up and loaded, took one last dip in the pool and are ready to set out for Indiana, and hopefully, Illinois. We are hoping to get 450-500 miles behind us tomorrow. Not expecting much on tomorrow's highlight reel, but maybe by Sunday, I'll have pictures of Wall Drug and The Corn Palace to post. I know you are on the edge of your seat for that!
